I must tell you that I was shocked to hear one of the best records I've heard in a very long time. As I listened I heard Michael Franks and Stephen Bishop and Harry Chapin but mostly I heard Steve Deasy. :~) What a wonderful collection of songs. Your sound is addicting. I kept wanting to know what the next song would be about. Dean Sciarra, President, ItsAboutMusic.com |
"Steve's got a rock sensibilty, a folk voice, a great gift for melody, and some of the sharpest wit you've ever heard. (Unless, of course, you happen to be a lawyer...) " John Finan Michigan singer-songwriter |
You have a beautiful voice and are an excellent guitar player! You also have a wicked sense of humor too. I played the song about the lawyer and the one about Wayne Newton to my family and they were cracking up too. You are bringing back folk music to what it should be about, real life! | Funny, while enjoying this CD from Steve, we thought it reminded us of Harry Chapin and Michael Smith's choice lyrics and ideas. The selections all picture emotions and strong feelings of different events. We loved the one about the Dad telling his son not to be a lawyer man (with apologies to all our friendly Lawyer persons).
